We have added a few features this past week that we thought were too useful to hold back on. We hope you find these features as useful as we have.
Link Message to New Task
We frequently receive messages from team members that require some kind of follow-up action. Previously, if we wanted to create a task for the message, we would have to go to the task page and create a new task from there. This was inefficient and it was not possible to tie the new task back to the original message. To make things easier, we have added a "Link message to new task" option that allows you to create a new task and link it to the conversation in one step.
Create Item Via Email Enhancements
We have made some major enhancements to create an item via email. You can now specify the following information when creating an item via email:
1. The workspace that the item should be put in.
2. The person responsible for the milestone or task.
3. The due date and due time for tasks and milestones.
See the
create item via email help for more info.
Simplified Permission Settings for Quick Add/Edit
We have simplified the way you specify view/edit permission when using quick add or quick edit. Previously you could not specify whether an item is editable or viewable from quick add/edit. With the new change, it is now possible to specify whether an item is:
1. Editable and viewable by clients and team members
2. Viewable by clients and team members
3. Editable and viewable by team members only
4. Viewable by team members only
5. Private (viewable and editable by you and the responsible user, if any)
Miscellaneous
1. There is now an info icon

for each item in the milestones and tasks section that will show you the permission setting for the item when you move your mouse cursor over it.
2. The "Unfiled" and "Items Created Via Email" folders have been combined into "Unfiled/Items Created Via Email" folder.
I love the Link Message to New Task feature. One thing that could make it even better would be to have the ability to Link Message to Existing Task. I often have users send messages as a follow up to a task (or multiple tasks) instead of using the comments features. If I could link the message to one or more task, that would be a great help.
Thanks again for an awesome product in TWL!
Ellen
It is now also possible to link a message to an existing item, whether it be a milestone, task, event, or online document. To keep the list to a manageable size, the items list will not include completed milestones, completed tasks, or events in the past.
